The countdown for the biggest night in Hollywood is finally over as the Oscars 2013 - the 85th Academy Awards - have started in Hollywood, California.
The event is being hosted by comic actor Seth MacFarlane.
The stars were seen arriving on the red carpet for the big event amidst a sea of onlookers and paparazzi on Sunday evening, bringing in best fashion with stunning gowns and accessories. The glamorous stars stopped to pose for photographers and talk to media as they arrived for the evening.
While the red carpet arrivals were broadcast live by quite a few American channels including E!, there is live streaming of the program on various Web sites on the internet. The ceremony announcing the winners of the prestigious award is being broadcast on Sky Movies beginning at 1am (GMT).
