Nexus 10 Gets New Android 4.4.2 KOT49H KitKat Bug-Fix Update

Google has officially rolled out the new Android 4.4.2 KOT49H bug-fix update for Nexus 10 within a week after releasing the Android 4.4.1 KOT49E maintenance update for Nexus devices. As this is a minor update, it does not feature any major changes over its previous release (KOT49E).

Though there is no official changelog for the new Android 4.4.2 KOT49H update, it reportedly features performance and security enhancements, besides stability and bug-fix updates. The new Android 4.4.2 firmware is being rolled out in phases as an Over-The-Air (OTA) update in select regions. The update can be accessed via Settings > About Tablet > System updates > Check now.

Nevertheless, those who missed the official OTA update notification and those who cannot wait for its official release in their country can follow our step-by-step guide to install the same manually via ClockworkMod (CWM) or TWRP recovery.

Interested users who have already installed Android 4.4 KRT16S or Android 4.4.1 KOT49E firmware on their Nexus 10 can install this OTA update. This tutorial has three sections: the first is for non-rooted Nexus 10, the second for rooted Nexus 10 tablets and the third for rooting Nexus 10 on the newly installed Android 4.4.2 KOT49H bug-fix update.
