Google, last month, via its official Android Google + account confirmed that the Android 4.4 KitKat update for both the HTC One and Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition devices have been released.

Now the latest iteration of Android software version 4.4.2 with build number KOT49H is hitting HTC One Google Play units. Users may check for the OTA update by navigating to Settings>> About Phone>> System>> Updates>> Check now.

As the update is rolling out in stages, it will not be available for all users at the moment, notes XDA. But the update is expected to arrive for all users across the globe soon.

HTC, in addition to the update roll-out, has also released the Google Play Edition kernel source code for the Android 4.4.2 update and the framework files for the HTC One.
