The 100 season 3 episode 8
Lexa died in The 100 season 3 episode 7 The CW

The 100 season 3 killed off Alycia Debnam Carey's Lexa in an emotional episode, which also featured an origin story about Artificial Intelligence that wiped out humanity. The upcoming episode will deal with the repercussions of the Commander's death.

In episode 7, Titus's attempt to kill Clarke backfired, with Lexa being caught in the crossfire. Lexa was accidentally killed by her own bodyguard after being hit by a bullet meant for Clarke. Following the Commander's death, Titus removed the Alie-2 chip from the back of her neck and explained that the chip contains the memories and wisdom of all former Commanders.

Showrunner Jason Rothenberg in an interview talked about the Lexa twist and hinted that she might return in some capacity in the future episodes. Rothberg told TVLine: "I won't say whether this is the last time we'll see her or not but there is a flame inside the Commander's head, which contains the memories and/or minds of [the previous] Commanders. Lexa said in Episode 6 that the other Commanders speak to her in her dreams, and now she's among those Commanders in the flame if this technology is to be believed."

"After seeing the way it comes out of her head in Episode 7, we should think it's probably a technology that is to be believed. That's my way of saying that anything is possible," he added.

Alycia took to Instagram to give hope to her fans by saying: "May we meet again." In an emotional post, she thanked them and wrote: "Thank you to those who banded together to create an incredible and inspiring character. To the writers, directors, crew — hair, makeup, costumes, stunts, actors and Jason who helped me capture her essence."

"Thank you to all the fans for bringing her further to life, your passion is everything. It has been an honour to portray her. To envelop myself in her skin. To be given the freedom to represent a moment in our cultural and social zeitgeist — she has left a great imprint on me. I will miss her. May we meet again," she added.

The 100 season 3 episode 8 titled Terms and Conditions will air on 10 March at 9pm EST on The CW. The synopsis reads as follows:
