19 Kids And Counting star Jessa Duggar and her fiancé has tied the knot, and said their wedding vows while holding hands before 1000 guests.

The couple, who fell in love during TLC's family reality show, got married at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas.

However, Jessa and Ben decided not to kiss after Pastor Mike Schadt declared them man and wife, as they wanted to experience their 'first' kiss in private, The People magazine reported.

But the newlyweds asked the patriarch and matriarch of 19 Kids And Counting Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar to kiss instead.

"Ben is a peacemaker and a gentle, kind man," Michelle Duggar, 49, said. "I am grateful for the way the Lord brings two people together. We love Jessa so much and are so happy for her."

Ben is the oldest of seven children and according to his friend and best man for the wedding, Dylan McMahan, Jessa's husband is a "man of integrity."

"I know he's going to honour his wife and put her first," he told People.

"For me, it helped to mature me. A committed relationship does a lot to mature a young man. It does make them grow up a little bit. I can see that happening to Ben already," McMahan continued.

The Duggar family has its own set of traditional principles and they prefer a 'courtship' to being in a relationship.

In line with the family's beliefs, Jessa and Ben weren't allowed to touch each other after they fell in love and their physical contact was limited only to side hugs. They first held each other's hands only after their engagement.

Jessa's older sister, Jill Duggar, and her husband Derick Dillard waited until they got married in June, for their first kiss. The couple is expecting their first baby.

The wedding will be aired on TLC during the next season of 19 Kids And Counting.
