The last encounter between these two sides, in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 tie, saw the Italians thrash Arsenal 4-0... with two strikes from Brazilian forward Robinho.

The Gunners, who have since managed to register two back-to-back victories against fierce rivals Tottenham and Liverpool in the Premier League, will be hoping for a similarly dominant display against their visitors on Tuesday.

However, the task of turning a 0-4 deficit around is a daunting one. If the Gunners do somehow manage to go through to the next round, they will have pulled of an absolutely monstrously wonderful comeback... not too dissimilar to the manner in which Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna fought their way past the Italians, in the quarter-finals of the 2003/04 Champions League.

On that occasion too, the Italians played their away game with a commanding lead (4-1) in hand. Unfortuantely, they were blitzed 4-0 by the Galicians, with Walter Pandiani, Juan Valeron, Albert Luque and Gonzalez Fran scoring.

Fast forward to 2012, however, and it must be admitted a similar slip-up by Milan appears unlikely. The Rossoneri sit on top of Serie A and will come to London after a 4-0 demolition of Palermo in their last league fixture.

The only other point of solace Arsenal can look to ahead of this game is the fact that the Italians have bowed out of the competition at this stage in each of their last four seasons.

Oh... and Arsenal are unbeaten in 13 games at the Emirates.
