Agents of Shield
Agents of Shield season 2 and Avengers: Age of Ultron tie-in revealed Marvel

Agents of Shield characters had to deal with the aftermath of Shield's destruction in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And as per latest reports, the outcome of Avengers: Age of Ultron will do the same thing to the ABC show.

"The upcoming two episodes, starting this Tuesday, will have Easter eggs and an assortment of elements leading up to the Avengers sequel," states Comic Vine.

Actress Cobie Smulders, who will be seen in Avengers 2 as Maria Hill, will be returning to the show in the 5 May episode, which will reportedly deal with the aftermath of the film. However, it doesn't look like Ultron will be too focussed on destroying Shield.

Earlier reports hinted that the origins of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch might be teased on the show over the upcoming episodes.

ABC has released the official synopsis for this Tuesday's episode titled, The Frenemy of My Enemy, which reads as follows:

"Grant Ward, who revealed himself as secret HYDRA agent, is Coulson's ace in the hole. In order to protect S.H.I.E.L.D. and himself, Coulson approaches Grant Ward. Supporting Coulson in his secret mission is Hunter. Meanwhile, the battle between the two groups continues.

Elsewhere, Skye, who is training with her mother to master her superpowers, will find herself pulled into this war. She is not the only one to feel the impact. Lincoln will also get forcibly involved in the dispute."

Agents of Shield season 2, episode 18 airs on 21 April at 9pm on ABC. Click here to watch the episode via live stream online.
