A batch of chocolates at Aldi have been recalled over salmonella fears Reuters

Supermarket Aldi is recalling chocolate from its shelves after salmonella was detected in a batch.

A product recall notice has been issued for 200g Choceur Treasures with a best before date of 1 September.

The chocolates have been sold in around 100 stores in towns and cities in the Midlands including Birmingham, Worcester, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry and Grantham.

The Food Standards Agency is warning people not to eat the product. No other products were affected.

Any customers who bought the chocolate are asked to return it to the store.
