Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is weighing up is future at Arsenal and is reportedly willing to consider an offer to join Liverpool in the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners midfielder is open to the idea of playing under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield and will make a decision on his future in the summer. The German manager is set to have put Oxlade-Chamberlain on his list of summer targets.

Klopp will have to certainly strengthen his squad in the summer especially if Liverpool qualifies for the Champions League next season. The Reds boss has already begun indentifying targets and the Arsenal star is said to be among the names at the top of his list with Virgil van Dijk said to be his main priority.

Oxlade-Chamberlain will enter the final year of his contract with his current employers at the end of the campaign and is yet to be offered a new deal. Arsene Wenger has made it clear that he wants the England international to commit his future to the club especially after seeing him display some of his best form since joining the club.

The French coach has always maintained that the 23-year-old's best position is in the middle of the park but has deployed him in a number of positions thus far with the latest being at wing-back. Wenger has changed the formation recently playing 3-4-3 and Oxlade-Chamberlain has been preferred in the wing-back role in which he has excelled.

The former Southampton trainee is having his best season with Arsenal – in terms of appearances and goals - since his arrival in 2011 and the club will be reluctant to lose a player who is entering his prime. The report states that Arsenal are planning talks at the end of the season and are said to be prepared to add him to the list of players in the £100,000-a-week ($129,460) bracket and offer him a new five-year deal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, meanwhile, is said to be pondering his future and the idea of playing under Klopp is said to be appealing to the midfielder. Also the promise of playing in his preferred midfield position is another factor turning his head. However, Liverpool will have to part with upwards of £25m in order to try and convince the Gunners to sell to a direct rival.
