Real life Bling Ring member Alexis Neiers has slammed the film about the group, calling it "trashy and inaccurate", after watching the trailer.
Neiers, who is being portrayed by Emma Watson in the movie, blasted while responding to a tweet from Los Angeles Times writer, Amy Kaufman about the trailer.
"It's trashy and inaccurate," she tweeted, "Based on Detective Goodkin and Nancy Joe Sales inaccurate information. 2 people who are everything they accused us of being. Celebrity status obsessed, fame & money hungry".
"The detective who has been caught in multiple lies and who played himself in this film and a woman who is an irresponsible, inaccurate and a dishonest journalist who is currently writing a book based on inaccurate facts. The truth will come out soon enough and I have no intention of seeing this film," she added.
However, in a blog post dated 5 April, the 21-year-old Pretty Wild star seemed much more optimistic about the movie.
"Just last month a teaser for the film was released and based on what I saw it looks like it is just another party movie based on teens robbing celebrity homes. I understand that the point of this teaser was to entice all of you to go to the theater and see this film. I am still hoping that this movie will accurately show what I have described above and I have faith in Sofia's ability and in this film," she posted.
Watson told GQ magazine that her character (Nicki) represents everything she hates in society.
"When I read the script and I realised that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it's become to our society, I had to do it," Watson told GQ magazine, "The character is everything that I felt strongly against - she's superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She's all of these things and I realised that I hated her."
"How do you play someone you hate? But I found it really interesting and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job, or my role as an actress, could be," Watson explained.
The Bling Ring hits cinemas in the United States on 14 June.
