Amanda Bynes grabbed headlines recently for alleged drug use. However, more than suspicions the 27-year-old American actress was a marijuana user, it was her accusing the New York Police Department (NYPD) of sexual assault that stole the spotlight.

Following her arrest from her Manhattan apartment for criminal possession of marijuana, Bynes took to Twitter to post a message claiming she was innocent, had been framed and one of the policemen touched her inappropriately.

Bynes' rants on the social networking Web site did not stop there, with the former Nickelodeon star getting into an online spat with pop star Rihanna. In addition to the 25-year-old Barbadian singer, Bynes also fought with veteran singer Courtney Love and supermodel Chrissy Teigen.

The latest... Amanda Bynes is suing the NYPD. She released a lengthy statement on the issue:

"I'm suing NYPD for illegally entering my apartment, lying about drugs on me and lying about me tampering with nonexistent drug paraphernalia, then I'm suing for being put into a mental hospital against my will, then locked up overnight for coming home after a facial and working out with my trainer like the good girl that I am. I'm allergic to alcohol and drugs and don't partake in any of the above. I'm so offended by all of this but so proud to not be a drug or alcohol user."

Courtney Love and Alyssa Milano Rally for Amanda Bynes

Bynes then responded harshly to comments made by Love. The 48-year-old reportedly tweeted: "Amanda Bynes pull it together dude" and Bynes responded: "Courtney Love is the ugliest woman I've ever seen. To be mentioned by her at all makes me and all my friends laugh!"

However, Love later tweeted: "Will you people lay off on giving this girl such grief? Shes a beautiful talented young woman, we all go through our ups and downs. grow up! Amanda, I wasn't attacking you love," "I've been in your shoes before, wasn't easy. DM me, let's talk. Ignore the haters."

Hollywood actress Alyssa Milano also took to Twitter, to offer her support for Milano. The Charmed star posted: "@Courtney I would totally be there if you can reach her. Let me know if I can help in any way."

Teigen and Bynes had a slightly more acerbic exchange, with the 27-year-old Sports Illustrated model claiming: "The fact that Amanda Bynes has any 'support' to retweet is really unsettling. Support people with mental illness, yes. But don't condone/enable scary and poor behaviour."

Bynes' response was sharp if, perhaps, a little immature. The troubled star posted: "@chrissyteigen Ur not a pretty model compared to me. I signed to Ford models @ age 13. I don't look up to u beauty wise. I'm far prettier than u! I'm offended that you're saying I have a mental illness when I show no sign of it, but thankfully not one man that wants me wants you and you are an old ugly model compared to me!"
