The Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS update is now rolling out to Samsung Galaxy Note Edge users in Australia and India.

According to a GSMArena report, the Lollipop update has started seeding to Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge users in Australia and is now available for users in India as well.

The Android Lollipop OS update is available via over-the-air (OTA) mechanism for Galaxy Note Edge (bearing model number SM-N915G) in Australia.

Meanwhile, GSMArena carried tweets posted by Samsung Galaxy Note Edge users in India, confirming the roll-out of the Android Lollipop.

Galaxy Note Edge users in India can check for the Lollipop firmware upgrade, which is 1GB in size.

The update is likely to bring an all new Material design UI, along with enhancements such as a new battery saver feature, new lockscreen notifications control, ambient display feature, new task-manager interface among others. However, Samsung is yet to make a complete change log of the update, official at this point in time.

How to manually download and install Android Lollipop OS update?

Google's Android Lollipop is generally available via the over-the-air (OTA) mechanism, but can also be manually searched for and downloaded as explained below:

  • From the home screen, press the Menu button.
  • Tap Settings
  • Scroll to and tap About device
  • Tap Software Update
  • Select Update now
  • If new system updates are available at that point in time, follow the on-screen instructions for installation, or else tap OK.
