It'd be one of the biggest sporting gaffes if Olympic organisers didn't select Britain's top tennis player & World Number 4 to be part of Team GB in this year's Olympics, right? Well today it was finally confirmed that Andy Murray has been. Smiles all round.

Murray crashed out of the Aegon Championships last week, beaten by Frenchman Nicholas Mahut.

London 2012 will be the second ever Olympics appearance for the Scottish tennis ace and today he took time out to confirm how important it is for him - and other players of his calibre - not to miss out one of the World's biggest sporting occasions.

But let's not get too excited about the Olympics just yet – can you imagine Murray getting excited about anything? He's got Wimbledon to think of first – that starts next Monday.
