A Christian preacher has blamed homosexuals and President Obama for Frankenstorm Hurricane Sandy as it slams into the east coast of the US.

On his website Defend and Proclaim the Faith, chaplain John McTernan said the storm was God's judgment on gays and punishment for Obama's recent backing of same-sex marriage. He also attacked Obama's Republican rival, Mitt Romney.

"Obama is 100 percent behind the Muslim Brotherhood which has vowed to destroy Israel and take Jerusalem," the preacher claimed. "Both candidates are pro-homosexual and are behind the homosexual agenda. America is under political judgment and the church does not know it.

"Hurricane Sandy is hitting 21 years to the day of the Perfect Storm of October 20, 1991," he maintains. "This was the day that President George Bush Sr initiated the Madrid Peace Process to divide the land of Israel, including Jerusalem. America has been under God's judgment since this event."

He said that Hurricane Isaac and Hurricane Katrina were blatant examples of God's iron fist on a sinful America.

"Both hit during the week of the homosexual event called Southern Decadence in New Orleans," he said.

"It could be that God is putting an end to this city and its wickedness. The timing of Hurricane Isaac with Southern Decadence is a sign that God's patience with America's sin is coming to an end."

Thousands of lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender took part in Southern Decadence, and nine preachers participating in a anti-gay rally were arrested," Gaystarnews reported.

McTernan planned to host a prayer meeting which would be streamed online on his website.

In another post titled Hurricane Sandy and the election, McTernan accused GOP candidate Romney of being a "big time pro-homosexual supporter" to the point "he will keep open homosexuality in the military".

"He wants homosexuals in the Boy Scouts; and he wants more open homosexuals in the Republican Party," the preacher said.
