Arrow Season 3 premieres tonight (October 8) and the eagerly-awaited new season is all set to further strengthen a strong DC Comics-influenced television setup that Warner Bros (WB) currently have.

With a lineup that already features the already popular Gotham and brand new series - The Flash (which premiered yesterday), looks like WB are all set to pull a Marvel on TV.

The new season of Arrow promises to be more exciting than ever. On the romantic front, the Olicity saga will move forward. In the premiere episode, they finally go on a date.

Arrow will also encounter a number of DC Comic characters this season which includes Batman villain Ra's al Ghul. Fans as well as the producers are also super excited about the Arrow and Flash crossover episode.

"It's so friggin' awesome!" said the show's executive producer Marc Guggenheim (via IGN). "I have to say, I never had so much fun writing a script before; maybe in my life. It was such a blast to work on. We're filming the Arrow half of it, the Arrow episode, right now. It's just so much fun."

Guggenheim said his advice for everyone involved was, "We should try for Avengers. These two heroes together. Big production value. We're blowing out the doors on this."

Big things are expected from the series crossover event – told across the two-hour Episode 8 of both shows – and according to the producers, the story will pack one heck of a surprise, states a Screenrant report.

Beginning with The Flash in an episode titled Flash vs. Arrow, the network has given Arrow fans a major reason to tune in to The Flash as well:

"We have one of the biggest surprises on Arrow of all time on The Flash episode", producer Andrew Kreisberg told MTV News.

Coming back to the Arrow Season 3 premiere, the official synopsis of episode 1 reads:

"In the aftermath of this victory, Season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen — not as long as the city needs The Arrow."

Arrow season 3 premieres on Wednesday, October 8th at 8/7c on The CW.
