Bacary Sagna

Arsenal have confirmed a total of 11 players have left the club after their contracts at the Emirates Stadium officially expired on Monday 30 June.

The Gunners were expected to have a busy summer transfer window but are still waiting for reinforcements and have sparked the clear-out with a number of stars – including Bacary Sagna and Lukasz Fabianski.

Sagna opted to join Manchester City while keeper Fabianski moved to Swansea despite Arsene Wenger wanting both to remain at the Emirates.

Furthermore, striker Nicklas Bendtner and Ju Young Park have been released by the club after failing to made the impact expected – leaving the squad with just Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo competing for the number nine position.

The French manager also decided against prolonging Kim Kallstrom's spell in North London after the midfielder played only four games with the Gunners following his January loan move from Spartak Moscow.

Meanwhile, keeper Emiliano Viviano has been released after a failed loan spell at Fiorentina while Zak Ansah has joined Charlton Athletic.

Arsenal have also dispensed with the services of academy players Chuks Aneke, Daniel Boateng, Zach Fagan and Leander Siemann.

The Gunners are yet to complete any new signings this summer even though all their Premier League big rivals have secured the services of a number of stars.

Current Premier League champions Manchester City have already completed the signing of Fernando and Sagna while Chelsea have signed both Spaniard Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas.

Liverpool have confirmed Ricky Lambert, Emre Can and Adam Lallana while Manchester United have bolstered the squad with Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw.
