German winger Serge Gnabry has committed his future to Arsenal after signing a new long term deal with the north London club.

The 18-year-old has forced his way into the first team plans of manager Arsene Wenger and has already made five appearances this season.

Gnabry scored his first goal for the club against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium last month and is regarded is one of the finest young talents at Arsenal.

The Germany youth international only signed his first professional contract back in the summer of 2012 having been convinced to make the move to the Emirates from Stuttgart just one year previously.

He excelled first for the Under-18s then became a regular in the NextGen Series before quickly catching the eye of Wenger who gave him his debut in the Champions League last season against Schalke.

With Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski all spending time out of the first team due to various injuries, Gnabry has made the most of his opportunities to impress.

Now a regular member of the first team match day squad, Wenger revealed to the official Arsenal website how pleased he was that Gnabry had decided to remain at the club.

"We signed Serge Gnabry because I believe that he will be a great player. He's nearly there now, and competes for a regular place in the team in the Premier League," said Wenger.

"He has technical ability, he has power, he has pace, he has finishing quality and he can give a final ball. He's a powerful offensive player and I believe that he will be a great player for Arsenal Football Club."

The hugely talented winger will now hope he can continue to shine as Arsenal look to end their long run without a trophy which extends all the way back till 2005.

"Arsenal is a great football club and I'm so happy to be here and sign a new contract. For me, now it's all about working hard and developing my game," revealed Gnabry.

"I've had some good opportunities recently in the first team, which has given me extra confidence, and this will only improve my game. I'm looking forward to giving my best for this club in the years to come."
