Arsenal and Hull City have both confirmed midfielder Isaac Hayden's loan move to the Tigers for the 2015/16 campaign.

"Isaac Hayden has joined the Tigers on loan for the 2015/16 season, the Club is delighted to confirm," a statement on Hull's official site read.

The 20-year-old, who can either operate in midfield or defence, has captained the Arsenal U21 team in the past and he has also featured for the Gunners' first-team on two occasions in the League Cup.

The England U20 international missed parts of last season with an injury and was also omitted from Arsenal's pre-season tour of Singapore. However, he has had a productive start to the new campaign after featuring in both games against Lyon and Wolfsburg during the recently concluded Emirates Cup.

Hayden is expected to go straight into Steve Bruce's first-team squad ahead of their pre-season friendly against Sheffield United on Sunday (2 August). The versatile midfielder expressed his delight at joining the Championship club and believes that it is the perfect move at this stage of his career.

"I'm very pleased and very excited. It's exactly what I need at this stage of my career. The manager has been great with me and I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the lads - I can't wait to get started now," Hayden told Hull's official site.

"This club is an ambitious one, so to be part of this is a great opportunity – it's a chance for me to prove myself. I'm very excited for the season ahead," the Gunners midfielder added.

Meanwhile, according to BBC Sport, Hayden's teammate Chuba Akpom, is also poised to join him at the KC Stadium on a season-long loan. Arsene Wenger is keen for the forward to get more experience despite stating earlier in the season that he will remain with the Arsenal first-team for the upcoming season.
