Kevin Mirallas

Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly interested in Belgium forward Kevin Mirallas.

The 24 year old's form in front of goal for Greek club Olympiakos, over the last two seasons, has caught the attention of a host of European clubs. The player is keen on a move to England and Sky Sports reports Brendan Rodgers and Arsene Wenger are interested in signing him. The report says Mirallas has a release clause of €8.25mn (£6.4mn) and both clubs are now expected to hold talks with his agent.

The Daily Star reports Reds boss Rodgers has already shortlisted Mirallas as a priority target. Liverpool are in dire need of attacking options, having lost Dutchman Dirk Kuyt and Argentine Maxi Rodriguez this summer. Meanwhile, striker Andy Carroll seems to be on his way back to Newcastle United after a largely disappointing 18-month stint at Anfield.

Mirallas could prove a smart signing for Arsenal as well. He could provide good support for forwards Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski, particularly since club captain Robin van Persie seems set to leave the club next year, after refusing to sign an extension.

The versatile Belgian, who can play either as a striker or a winger, netted 20 league goals last season and helped Olympiakos clinch the domestic double. The player had spells with Ligue 1 outfits Lille and Saint-Etienne before moving to Greece in 2010.

Fulham Accept Liverpool's Dempsey Bid

Fulham have accepted a £10mn bid for forward Clint Dempsey, from Liverpool, according to the Daily Mail.

The report says Rodgers expects the deal to be concluded before the end of the week and the American's arrival could signal the end of Carroll's time at Anfield. Dempsey is highly versatile and can operate as a forward, attacking midfielder or winger. The 29 year old, who scored 23 goals for the Cottagers last season, turned down the chance to sign an extension with Martin Jol's side. His contract expires next summer.

Rodgers sees the signing as an important breakthrough after losing Gylfi Sigurdsson - a player in the same mould as Dempsey - to Tottenham Hotspur. The USA international, who was linked to Arsenal earlier in the summer, is expected to complete his move to Merseyside later this week.
