Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have all made inquiries about the availability of Villarreal sensation Denis Suarez ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Marca. However, Barcelona are expected to beat all suitors for his services as the Catalans have a buy-back option to get the Spaniard back at the Nou Camp for only €3m (£2.4m, $£3.45m) – and have already admitted their intentions to activate it at the end of the season.

Barcelona secured the services of Suarez from the Manchester City academy in 2013 after he failed to breakthrough at the Eithad Stadium. The 22-year-old playmaker spent a fruitful season with the Catalans' second team but the club considered he was not still ready to make the step to Luis Enrique's first team and sent him on loan to Sevilla.

The Spaniard showed glimpses of his talent at the Europe League winners but failed to establish himself as a regular for Unai Emery and Barcelona opted to sell him to Villarreal last summer on permanent basis, keeping an option to buy him back for around €3m at the end of the season in case he finally broke into a major star.

Some may have thought then that his future at the Nou Camp was all but over but Suarez has since proven the doubters wrong by blossoming into a sensation in Spain, having scored five goals and provided 13 assists to lead Villarreal to both the Europe League semi-final and the fourth place in La Liga.

Barcelona have thus recently confirmed that Suarez will "probably" return to the Nou Camp in the summer – after they already tried to lure him back in January, only to be snubbed by Villarreal as the buy-back option was not effective during mid-season.

But Marca now reports that Barcelona will have to make their decision soon as the Premier League giants are interested in securing his services in case the Catalans change their mind.

The Spanish publication claims that Arsenal, Tottenham and City have already made inquiries to get Suarez's services after having being impressed by his development. Arsene Wenger even reportedly sent a scouter to the recent Europe League seminal first leg between Villarreal and Liverpool, with Suarez providing the assist to Adrian for the injury-time winner.

City, meanwhile, let him go to Barcelona for just €1.5m but are now aware of their huge mistake, and would like to have him back at the Etihad as he would fit really well in the Pep Guardiola passing game.

Marca claims that Suarez also received a lucrative offer from Zenit in January but he decided to turn it down to stay at Villarreal until the end of the season. Barcelona, as the player recently claimed, will then have the final word on his future but everything looks ready for him to become the Catalans' first signing of the summer.
