Olympiakos forward Kevin Mirallas has confirmed that his agent has held negotiations with Arsenal over a potential move to the north London side this summer.

The 24-year-old's form in front of goal for the Greek club, over the last two seasons, has caught the attention of a host of European clubs. And the Gunners were reportedly preparing a bid for the Belgium international earlier this month.

According to Sky Sports, when asked if he had spoken to Arsenal, Mirallas replied: "My manager [has]. Me? No." The player was then asked if the transfer might happen to which he replied: "Yes, it's good."

The report says Mirallas has a release clause of €8.25m (£6.4m). The versatile forward, who can play either as a striker or a winger, netted 20 league goals last season and helped Olympiakos clinch the domestic double.

Mirallas had spells with Ligue 1 outfits Lille and Saint-Etienne before moving to Greece in 2010. The player admits that the prospect of joining Arsenal vice-captain and compatriot Thomas Vermaelen in England appeals to him.

"Thomas plays very good at Arsenal and now a lot of Belgian players are in the Premier League. (Moving to England) It's good for me, it's good for my family and it's a good opportunity, but I don't know...it's possible," the Olympiakos hitman added.

Sahin to decide future this week

Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin will make a decision on his future later this week, according to the Metro.

The 23-year-old is preparing to leave the La Liga champions on a season long loan, after being told he is free to go by club boss Jose Mourinho. The Turkey international has attracted interest from clubs all over Europe, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

AC Milan and Lyon were also linked to Sahin in recent weeks but the player could also be tempted with a move to his country, with Galatasaray and Besiktas having both expressed an interest.

Sahin arrived at Madrid from Borussia Dortmund last summer but struggled to break into the Madrid line-up and made just 10 appearances in all competitions last season.
