Nicklas Bendtner
Nicklas Bendtner is completely committed to Arsenal, Mikel Arteta claims.

Mikel Arteta believes that Nicklas Bendtner is fully committed to Arsenal despite the striker recently claiming he wants to leave in January.

Bendtner scored his first league goal for the Gunners since 2010 in their 2-0 win over Hull during the week and as a result Arsene Wenger reserved special praise for the Denmark international.

While Bendtner has constantly insisted he wants to leave Arsenal, Arteta reveals that he has never been anything less than 100% committed to helping the club achieve success.

"He has been working really hard," Arteta said. "He joined us in pre-season and was rewarded. He got the chance and got a very good goal.

"The good thing is we can still rotate the squad and keep winning. The squad players can contribute and help the team be successful. Every member of the squad is important and Nicklas is no different."

The midfielder also claimed that with Bendtner fighting hard for more game time the increased competition in the squad would allow them to continue with their successes in the new year, with the Gunners currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table.

"He is an Arsenal player and while he is here, he is 100% here," he explained. "I don't think he will be thinking of doing anything different because he likes playing here.

"I think it [the competition for places] is great. Everybody has to be on their toes and everybody feels important. You are going to need everyone if you are going to achieve something.

"The Christmas period is going to be massively important but with the quality, the ambition and the togetherness that we have I think we are in a good position."

Bendtner's contract with Arsenal runs out next summer and Wenger has admitted that the side are yet to enter into talks with the hitman over a new deal.
