Arsenal are interested in former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou, according to The Sun. The Ivory Coast international left Stamford Bridge for Ligue 1 club Lille OSC last summer and has had a reasonable first season in France, scoring eight times from 22 league games.

Kalou is believed to be happy on the continent but would welcome a move back to the Premier League if the opportunity arose.

"I'd love to go back to England. I spent six seasons there and I am crazy about the Premier League. Players' careers change so quickly - you never know what will happen tomorrow," the 27-year-old explained.

Arsene Wenger is likely to look for attacking reinforcements in the summer, with Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski both underachieving in their first season with the club. The Gunners have been linked with Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic and Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Gibbs on Arsenal

Meanwhile, Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs believes the Gunners are finally playing as a team. The defender also said the new signings were now coming to terms with the club's style of play.

Arsenal are fourth in the Premier League, a point behind Chelsea and two ahead of north London rivals Tottenham (who have a game in hand) in the race for Champions League football next season.

"If you look at the team, there are a lot of new players and... you're starting to see the players know each other a lot more. You can see that in the last run of games... I feel like we look more like a team in the last few games that we have played," the England international told the club's Web site.
