Arsenal are set to make a double bid to Real Madrid for veteran goalkeeper Iker Casillas and young striker Alvaro Morata this summer, reports in Spain claim.

Arsene Wenger is desperately looking for a hitman to support Olivier Giroud up front and is also considering signing a goalkeeper, as he does not have complete faith in Wojciech Szczesny.

Casillas and Morata are struggling to get a place in the starting Real Madrid line-up under new manager Carlo Ancelotti, and both may consider leaving La Liga next summer.

According to Spanish online newspaper El Confidencial, Arsene Wenger is dreaming about signing the Spanish duo and is set to make a very ambitious offer to Real Madrid to acquire their services.

The reports add that Wenger is happy with his current squad but he believes that Casillas and Morata will add the quality they need to be the best English team again, and even challenge the major European teams for the Champions League.

Arsenal and Tottenham have been monitoring Morata since last summer but Real Madrid have made clear that they are not considering selling him in January, so Wenger is willing to wait until next season to convince Los Blancos.

The 21-year-old striker has played just one La Liga game as a starter this season and this summer he may consider moving for regular game time.

Casillas´s situation at Madrid is similar. The 32-year-old is only playing in the Champions League and Copa del Rey, while Diego Lopez is the Real Madrid number one in La Liga, and although he has offers to move in January he wants to stay at least until the end of the season to win one more Champions League at the Bernabeu.

Arsenal have done business with Madrid recently, signing Mesut Ozil last summer, and they will be hopeful that the Spanish giants will allow another two players to leave for the Emirates.
