The exact release date of the iPhone 5, the unofficial name for Apple's sixth-generation smartphone, had not been predicted until July 30, when iMore's Rene Ritchie became the first to report on the possible unveiling date for the new iPhone and iPad "Mini." Unfortunately, Apple will never confirm the unveiling date or the iPhone's release date until Tim Cook actually takes the stage and announces it himself.
