Amy Winehouse fans send 'Back to Black' Number One on iTunes Chart, ahead of Adele's 21.

Sales of Back to Black, which was produced by Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, have rocketed, pushing the album to the top of the iTunes chart, knocking Adele's 21 off the number one spot.

Thousands of fans have clearly shown their passion for the late singer's music, by buying her album resulting in Back to Black pushing Adele's 21 off the top spot.

Back to Black was the second studio album by recording artist Amy Winehouse realised in 2006, and spawned several hit singles, including ''Rehab'', ''You Know I'm No Good and ''Back to Black''.

At the 50th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, Back to Black won five awards, tying the record. The album also won BestPop Vocal Album.

While "Rehab" won Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year and of the Year with Amy Winehouse winning Best New Artist. The album was also nominated for Album of the Year.Record

Speaking of the album a friend told the Daily Mail: ''She (Amy Winehouse) wrote the majority of Back to Black about their (Blake Fielder-Civil) stormy romance.

Debut album, Frank, which Amy previously said she was only "80%" satisfied with, is number nine on the chart.

Both producers of Back to Black, Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, spoke of their sadness at the loss.

Mark Ronson Tweeted: "She was my musical soulmate and like a sister to me. This is one of the saddest days of my life."

Salaam Remi Tweeted: "Very very sad day. Just lost a great friend and a sister. RIP my baby sis Cherry Winehouse. Love ya always".
