With Obama's presidency in full swing, its clear that the president is 'hoping for change' as his election manifesto so eloquently put forward.

Obama is planning on keeping his promises.
He promised universal healthcare, and he's put forward more than $800bn as a down-payment. Temporary tax credits are to be made permanent. Carbon emissions are going to be cut.
America's richest 2-3% are to be taxed at higher levels than before.
An increase in spending and a redistribution of wealth, Obama is ploughing through his changes at top speed.
Whilst many observers expected Obama to compromise in economic downturn, he has on the contrary kept every promise that he made, even though it is putting his treasury budget a trillion dollars into the red.
Such transformation has not been seen since the likes of Roosevelt and Reagan and leaves him firmly set on a decisive course of action, that perhaps he had no choice but to take - considering the scale of his promises.
Whether they fail or succeed, only time will tell, however what is certain is that obama is changing the boundaries of American society.
From being the first black president, Obama is setting a precedence in honesty and determination to fulfil what he has set out to do.
"What he has done in the budget is to demonstrate a political purpose that reaches well beyond the immediate storms" said Philip Stephens, commentator in the Financial Times.
