Gibson's girlfriend pregnant

Gibson, 53, speaking on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in the US, said, "This is true. We're gonna have a child."

Grigorieva, 39, first came into public view last month, when Gibson's wife of 28 years, Robyn, filed for divorce after Gibson was pictured on a beach with a then unidentified woman.

Soon after Gibson was seen attending the premiere of X-men Origins: Wolverine with Grigorieva.

Gibson said that the situation between him and his wife was "unfortunate" but added that she was "an admirable woman".

He also said, "Our marriage ended three years ago and we've been separated ever since then," he is quoted as saying.

"When it's all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself," he added.

"I'm to blame. If you're inclined to judge, put it here."

Mel and Robyn Gibson had seven children together and it is believed that Robyn maybe attempting to gain a share of the actors multi-million dollar fortune.
