Iran's Guardian Council has agreed to meet defeated candidates from the country's presidential election after receiving complaints of nearly 650 violations of electoral rules.
Last Friday the country went to the polls to select it's president. In the official results incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was announced the winner with two thirds of the vote.
The announcement of the results was greeted with riots and mass demonstrations throughout the current week. Hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets to protest what they regard as a fraudulent result and to support defeated candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi.

According to official results Mr Mousavi came second in the poll, but leaked "real" results show that Mr Mousavi came first and that Mr Ahmadinejad came third.
According to Iran's Press TV the Guardian Council has agree to meet the three defeated candidates after receiving complaints detailing 646 violations of electoral rules. As well as Mr Mousavi the Council will meet Mehdi Karroubi and Mohsen Rezaei to discuss their concerns about the elections.
The Guardian Council is responsible for vetoing who can stand as a Presidential candidate. Over 450 people applied to be a presidential candidate for the latest election, but the Council only approved four of them.
