Despite the Los Angeles County Coroner's office saying that there was no indication of trauma or foul play in the sudden death of Michael Jackson, the pop singer's father has expressed his suspicions that his son's death may not have been an accident.
Joe Jackson, while attending the Black Entertainment Television Awards would not give details of his suspicions but said he suspected "foul play somewhere".
Speaking to ABC7, Joe Jackson said, "Michael was dead before he left the house. I'm suspecting foul play somewhere."
"He was waving to everybody and telling them he loves them and all the fans at the gate. A few minutes after Michael was out there, he was dead."
The elder Jackson attended the event in Los Angeles which saw a range of guest stars pay tributes to Michael Jackson, who was known as the "king of pop". The event was turned into a tribute to Michael Jackson at the last minute after the news of his death became known.
Joe Jackson said he was attending the event in order to honour and celebrate his son's life.
Speaking to CNN he said, "Right now he is bigger than ever. I wish he was here to see all this, to hear all this."
"I just wish he could be here to celebrate himself. Sadly, he's not here, so I'm here to celebrate for him."
