29 June 2009 @ 11:42 am BST

The autopsy on the body of Michael Jackson has shown that the singer's ribs were broken as a result of attempts by medics to revive him after he went into cardiac arrest.

According to the Sun there were also four puncture marks in his chest where medics may have attempted to get his heart beating with adrenaline shots.

The hips, thighs and shoulders of Michael Jackson were also reported to be covered in needle wounds. His stomach was empty apart from some partially dissolved pills, samples of which have been sent for toxicology tests.

Michael Jackson was also found to be going bald. Bruises were found on his knees along with a cut on his back.

A series of toxicology, neuropathology and pulmonary tests are being carried out to determine the cause of the heart attack which unexpectedly killed the 50 year old pop star.
