FTSE shares tipped to open slightly higher

PRE-OPEN REPORT: Headline shares are tipped to open slightly higher today as prices on Wall Street edged upwards last night.

US & ASIA

In the US last night, the Dow Jones added 96 points at 10,092, the Nasdaq Composite gained 20 points 2,173 and the S&P500 was up 10 points at 1,098.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was up 78p points at 10,315.03, and the Hang Seng was trading 3points higher at 22,376.58

Crude oil traded at $79.75 a barrel on Nymex.

LONDON MARKETS

In the corporate diary today, nterim results are due from Autonomy Corporation.

Final results are expected from Earthport, Plexus Holdinghs and Powerleague Group.

Essentially Group is hosting its AGM.
