In the US last night, the Dow Jones added 96 points at 10,092, the Nasdaq Composite gained 20 points 2,173 and the S&P500 was up 10 points at 1,098.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was up 78p points at 10,315.03, and the Hang Seng was trading 3points higher at 22,376.58

Crude oil traded at $79.75 a barrel on Nymex.

LONDON MARKETS

In the corporate diary today, nterim results are due from Autonomy Corporation.

Final results are expected from Earthport, Plexus Holdinghs and Powerleague Group.

Essentially Group is hosting its AGM.

On the economics front, figures for the Public Sector Borrowing Requirement should be released as well as the Provisional M4 Money Supply.

This afternoon in the US, should see the latest figures for US housing starts and the latest US producer prices.
