Silence Therapeutics says merger talks going smoothly

20 November 2009 @ 09:23 am BST

Biotechnology company Silence Therapeutics says merger discussions with an unidentified company announced in September are proceeding satisfactorily.

It expects to be able to announce details of the proposed transaction within the next few weeks.

The merger will be put to a shareholder vote at a separate EGM to be convened when all the information is available to shareholders.

Trading in the company's shares will remain suspended pending publication of an admission document containing that information.

The company's 2009 AGM will be held on Monday, 14 December
