International speciality pharmaceutical firm IS Pharma has received marketing authorisations for Variquel for all the major European markets, specifically the UK, France, Spain and Italy.
Furthermore, MAs have also been received for Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden. IS Pharma acquired Variquel in April 2008 when it was marketed only in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Since then it has successfully completed the European Mutual Recognition Procedure and subsequently obtained the abovementioned MAs, which has enabled IS Pharma to launch Variquel in the UK, France, Ireland, Denmark, Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden and Finland.
Launches in the other European markets are expected shortly.
