The Establishment Investment Trust's net asset value per share rose to 172.99p at the end of September - 40.49% up on the end of March figure.
Chairman Dr James King said: "The first half of the financial year has witnessed a strong recovery in both the share price and the net asset value of the company.
"Including the final dividend of 1.9p paid in July 2009, the total returns were 40.5% and 42.0% respectively.
"I consider these results satisfactory and note that the company was ranked first over both one and three years in the global growth sector in the periods to 30 September 2009 by net asset value total return according to the Association of Investment Companies."
