London - HTC is all set to launch a slew of Android-powered smartphones in the next couple of years, if a leak is to be believed.
An Android 2.1 ROM loaded on a HTC Hero smartphone included leaks of codenames for HTC's current and future Android-powered devices such as Bahamas, Bravo, DesireC, Dragon, Dream, Espresso, Halo, HeroCT, HeroC, Hero, Huangshan, Incredible, Legend, Liberty, Memphis, Paradise, PassionC, Passion, Sapphire and Supersonic.
Now any geek would know that Hero has already been launched in the market and others like Sapphire, Dream and Desire are also there (they were launched on the market as HTC Magic, T-Mobile G1 and DROID Eris).
Also recently, details of the said HTC Espresso were leaked on the web (Espresso reportedly comes with an ARMv6 processor clocked at 528MHz, and is said to be a GSM version of the HTC Hero that also includes a 320×480 pixel display and a full Qwerty physical keyboard in landscape mode).
However, what is interesting is that we have HeroCT and HeroC. Are these the successors of HTC Hero? Also does the codename Dragon refer to a HTC device that will be driven by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor (that currently powers HTC HD2)? Will they be launched in 2010? Only time will tell.
