Quantum dots developer Nanoco's CEO Michael Edelman says in his AGM statement that the company is making good progress across its business.
'Manufacturing scale-up, allowing us to produce 1kg batches of quantum dots, is proceeding well with reactors having now been installed and successfully commissioned in our Manchester facility.
'Development work with our partners is also proceeding well, and we continue to make good progress in negotiating further agreements.'
The initial commercial market for quantum dots is in the next generation of LEDs for use in low-energy LCD televisions, says Edelman.
'Recent legislation introduced by the Californian Energy Commission, demanding a 49% reduction in TV power consumption by the beginning of 2013, has underlined the significant potential of this market.'
