London - In what is seen as an attempt to ape Nintendo's Wii, Sega will soon be launching a mini gaming console which will come with two motion controllers.
According to media reports, the new gaming console is called Zone Sega and has been designed on the lines of Zone 40, the wireless gaming console released by Sega.
The new console is expected to cost around £50 and will be released in the UK in the summer of 2010. It will come with 50 games built-in including classic Sega titles such as Golden Axe, Sonic and Knuckles and Ecco the dolphin and a handful of new ones.
The motion controller can be used in 16 of them, an industry source said. However, it is unlikely that you can add your own games to it.
According to reports, this gaming console is not actually made by Sega though. Sega stopped making hardware way back in 2001 when its Dreamcast failed and it seems Zone Sega is being made by a third-party hardware manufacturer (I won't be surprised if it's Chinese) who has licensed the name 'Sega' and some of its games.
However, it still sounds like a bargain. What do you think?
