London - Sega is all set to launch a mini gaming console that's not only dirt cheap but also will feature wireless motion controllers.
The budget console, according to media reports, will be on the lines of Nintendo Wii rip-off Zone 40 and will be called Zone Sega.
If reports are to be believed, Zone Sega will come with 50 built-in games, 20 of which will be Sega classics like Alex Kidd, Golden Axe, Sonic and Knuckles and Ecco the Dolphin. Of the remaining 30 (of which 14 are Arcade games), 16 will specifically support the use of motion controllers.
However, you won't be able to add any other games to Zone Sega, which means you're stuck with only 50 titles.
The console, which appears to have been made by a third-party manufacturer and not Sega itself, will be launched in the UK in the summer of 2010 and is expected to retail for around £50.
An industry source says Zone Sega is not expected to compete with Wii as the former's being targeted for those wishing to re-live their younger days when gaming was all about ring collecting and three-button bashing.
