Fairy liquid goes back to 1980's for new marketing campaign

08 February 2010 @ 11:26 am BST

To mark its 50th anniversary Fairy will be reintroducing its traditional white washing up liquid bottle for a limited time only.

In a new marketing campaign the company will travel back to the 1980’s when adverts for the product were fronted by actress Nanette Newman. The slogan for the campaign is to be “Trust Fairy cleaning power!”.

Fairy liquid is a Procter & Gamble brand and made sales of around £114.6 million last year, up four per cent from the previous year.

The re-released white bottles come out today in Morrisons stores but will soon find themselves on shop shelves all over the country for a limited period of time.
