Wind power group Renewable Energy Generation made a first-half EBITDA profit of £0.4m, turning round a 2009 loss of £0.6m, on the back of revenues up 30% to £3.5m from £2.7m.
Loss before tax from continuing operations for the six months to December was £0.3m, down from £1.1m.
CEO Andrew Whalley said that following the disposal of the group's Canadian operations for C$125m and its commitment to focus on the UK market, it had 39 individual wind projects under active development.
'With a strong balance sheet we are investing in resources and with a clear growth strategy, we believe that the group is well placed to maximise the potential of this pipeline over the coming years.'
During the period the group committed over £25m to new wind projects at Goonhilly Downs, Loscar and High Haswell.
The investments are expected to double operating output to approximately 100 GWh per annum. The three new projects will be operational during 2010.
The group said it was moving toward profitability and with this in mind was maintaining its interim dividend at 0.5p.
