WOOF to distribute Verdo Renewables eco-friendly wood pellets and briquettes

Verdo Renewables offers Briquettes, Heating Pellets and Horse Bedding, all of which are made by taking clean virgin wood from sawmills and other renewable sources. This is then de-barked, chipped, dried to under 10% moisture content and compacted. This allows the fuel log and pellets to produce nearly 3 times the energy content compared to traditional fire wood, meaning less Briquettes are needed for the same amount of heat. The briquettes can be used in multi fuel stoves, open fireplaces and log burning boilers, while the pellets provide a green alternative to oil or gas central heating.

Verdo Renewables has appointed WOOF! Wood Fuel from Axminster in Devon as the first official distributor for its range of eco friendly wood pellets and briquettes. The first assignment was despatched from Verdo's new production facility in Andover, using a bio fuelled transporter supplied by JB Wheaton and Sons.

Richard Smith, managing director, Verdo Renewables UK said, "As a dedicated supplier of both fuel logs and wood pellets to the domestic market in the UK, WOOF! makes a fantastic first distributor for the Andover facility. We are in detailed discussions with a number of other distributors around the country and will be announcing further additions to our network very soon."

Established in 2007, WOOF! are specialists in the supply of dry ready to burn wood based fuel. Will Lloyd, director, WOOF! said, "Buying the best product on the market and working with Verdo UK is an exciting prospect, while upholding our beliefs in supplying carbon neutral fuels".

Originating in Denmark, Verdo recently started manufacturing in the UK from two production plants, one in Andover, Hampshire and the other in Grangemouth, Scotland, providing an alternative heating source which is clean, green and carbon neutral.
