Denmark's Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik's Australian Tour: PHOTOS
Denmark's Princess Mary and her husband Crown Prince Frederik marks their first official visit as guests of the Australian government since 2005. The prince and his Australian-born wife were greeted by cheering crowds as they inspected seaside sculptures and enjoyed pedal-powered smoothies.
The royal couple took their time chatting and accepting flowers and gifts then planted a native Danish tree, a field maple, before farewelling the crowd and heading off to a wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial.
The couple's six-day visit to Australia began in Sydney and includes stops in Melbourne, western Victoria and Broken Hill in New South Wales and will be followed by Princess Mary's private family visit.
Crown Princess Mary was born Mary Donaldson in Hobart and the couple married in Copenhagen in 2004.
