With the release of "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" on DVD today, fans may be getting nervous that there is only one installment left in the sparkly franchise. Luckily for fans, Summit Entertainment and some of the cast are trying to persuade author Stephenie Meyer to keep the franchise going.

According to Perez Hilton, Summit co-founder Rob Friedman is all set to support Meyer with the fifth book, and the with the sixth film. "If she [Meyer] wishes to do it, we'll be there to support her," said Friedman.
Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen in the series, also supports additional films. "I love my character and I would love to do more. It's one of the things all the cast have talked about," Lutz said in an interview. "It would be really cool to play more of my character and have some more lines. I know Stephenie has written more so who knows? It could happen."

A fifth book doesn't seem so far from the horizon. In 2008, a partial draft of "Midnight Sun," Edward's version of the events that happened in "Twilight," was illegally posted on the Internet. "So where does this leave 'Midnight Sun?' Meyer asked on her Web site regarding the illegal posting. "My first feeling was that there was no way to continue ... With writing, the way you feel changes everything. If I tried to write "Midnight Sun" now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on "Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely."
If a fifth book or sixth "Twilight" movie isn't released, fans of Stephenie Meyer can at least look forward to the 2013 release of "The Host." "The Host" is about an alien race that comes to Earth to inhabit the bodies of humans. Shooting for the film is expected to begin this month.
The second installment in the "Twilight" series, "New Moon" grossed $709.8 million, and the fourth installment of "Breaking Dawn" is said to break the $700 million mark in sales as well.
