IBTimes UK has thrown dental caution to the wind and hunted down the most exciting sweets for your sweetheart.

We tried the finest candies, chocolates, gummies and marshmallows in the UK and voted on each one and marked them for price and quality.

Ferrero Rocher is an internationally recognised brand of chocolate and what better way to her heart than a choclate bouquet at Sweet Stems?

4. Aphrodite Chocolates

Aphrodite Chocolate, one of the smaller companies in our list, sent us its delicious box of 16 individuals containing fruit truffles, liqueur creams, fudges and more. They were reasonably priced and good-quality chocolate. We especially liked the gift options which included bottles of wine and prosecco to go alongside your chocolates.

3. Black Mountain Gold

Black Mountain Gold sent us some delightful samples including its bestselling Sea Salt Dragon bar. Priced £3, it is delicious. The individual chocolates were expensive at £1 each but the bar assured the brand third place in our list.

We loved their rich chocolates and were pleased with the price too, averaging under £1 per individual. We were disappointed we didn’t have more to sample but judging from what we did have, these guys are a very solid chocolatier. Quality 7/10 Price 8/10

2. Hot Chocolates

Hot Chocolate has absolutely outdone itself with truffles that are fine and velvety and highly sought after in the office. We loved its confectionery and were pleased with the price too, averaging under £1 per individual but disappointed we didn’t have more to sample. A very solid chocolatier.

1. Hope and Greenwood

Hope and Greenwood was our favourite sweet-sellers. Its undeniable versatility when it comes to goody-making sets it apart from the rest of the chocolate we tasted. The chocolate heart marshmallows were outstanding and went down a treat with everyone who tried them, although they were a bit costly at £6 a bag. The Cherry Heart Jellies were the newsroom favourite: two colleagues split the last one. An office romance in the air?
