Bombay HC Directs FIR Against Corrupt Congress Leader

The Bombay High Court Wednesday directed the police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Mumbai Congress president Kripashankar Singh in connection to a corruption case.

The court asked the Mumbai Police to register the case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The case will be filed against Singh against a public interest litigation (PIL) that was filed by a social worker.

The court has directed the police to attach all the immovable properties of the Congress president and his family.

It also directed the police to obtain sanction from the government for Singh's prosecution.

The police have been asked to file a compliance report by April 19.
