Apple has finally sent out a media invite for a special event on March 7, where the next generation tablet, dubbed iPad 3, is expected to be unveiled.
On the invitation, there is a photo of a finger touching an iPad calendar icon displaying the number "7" with the tagline "We have something you really have to see. And touch."
Though many people speculated that the event will be held in New York, rather than San Francisco, an Apple spokesperson confirmed that the event will be held at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, according to ZDNet.
The event will reportedly take place at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. Apple is expected to introduce iPad 3 at the event. The new tablet could hit the market a week later.
The official release date matches the claim of iMore, which said earlier this month that the new iPad will debut on March 7. And AllThingsD also predicted that Apple would hold the iPad 3 event at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in the first week of March.
