Arsenal are not targeting Luis Muriel, according to the forward's agent, with Helmuth Wennin claiming that talk of a move to the Emirates is just that for the Udinese star.
The Gunners appear to be on the lookout for a striker this summer, with Gervinho and Park Chu Young both struggling to find the net in their limited showings and Marouane Chamakh looking very likely to exit the club in the summer.
While Robin van Persie is on fire at the moment for Arsenal, and has so far scored 33 goals this season, Wenger will need to keep depth within the squad, and his loan deal with Thierry Henry proved how useful that could be.
Numerous reports had claimed that Arsenal were scouting Muriel, who is currently on loan at Serie A side Lecce. But Wennin insists that these rumours are without merit.
"There is no truth in Arsenal's
supposed interest in Muriel, these are just rumours," he told calciomercatoweb.it.

And on the subject of Italian clubs being interested in Muriel, Wennin had a similar response.
"Big Italian clubs? Luis is focused on Lecce," he maintained.
"His future is with Udinese, the club that owns him. This is no time to think about the transfer market."
Muriel has scored five goals in 21 appearances for Lecce this season, and the 20 year old is touted for big things when he makes a return to Udinese at the end of the season.
While Arsenal were unable to secure a trophy for their seventh season in a row, the club will be looking to build in the summer and use young stars Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Carl Jenkinson and Theo Walcott to create a new core group.
But a lot of that will depend on Van Persie, who is currently captaining the club, with the Holland international's deal expiring in summer 2013.
