Thousands of well-wishers have hit the streets of London to greet the Queen as she continued her Diamond Jubilee tour of Great Britain.

The monarch, who celebrates 60 years on the throne this year, visited the London boroughs of Redbridge, Waltham Forest and Harrow, where she enjoyed a rapturous reception.

Her majesty chose a flattering ensemble of a Stewart Parvin cream silk dress with a blue and green floral print teamed with a powder blue wool crepe coat and a hat by Rachel Trevor-Morgan for the occasion.

With the Duke of Edinburgh by her side, she visited Valentine Mansion in Redbridge, east London where paintings by Lucian Freud, Francis Bacon and David Hockney were on exhibition.

The Queen ended her tour of the 17<sup>th century house by opening the Valentines Diamond Jubilee Dry Garden as cheering crowds watched.

The royals then headed to Walthamstow Assembly Hall in Waltham Forest for a lunch attended by mayors from the 32 London boroughs and the City of London.

In Harrow, she visited the UK's first Hindu state school, the Krishna Avanti School, where she watched a dance and musical performance by schoolchildren and local groups.
